US President announces plans for most powerful warships ever built, here’s all you need to know
Announcing the world’s “largest ever warships”, the US President said: “We are entering the Golden Fleet; we are building for the US Navy. We needed the ships badly, as some of them were old, tired and obsolete.”
United States President Donald Trump announced on Monday (local time) the new “Trump class” of Navy warships that have been included in the US Navy’s “Golden Fleet”.
Describing the world’s “largest battleships ever”, Donald Trump said that the USA will build a total of 20 to 25 of these ships, which will be 100 times stronger than the USA’s current battleships.
The US President said, “We are going to the Golden Fleet; we are building it for the US Navy. We urgently needed ships because some of them were old, tired and obsolete. As Commander in Chief, I approved the Navy’s plan to begin construction of new warships, the largest we have ever built. These will be 100 times the force. These have been in the design phase for a long time and started with me in my first term. These are the best in the world.” “The fastest and biggest in the world.”
He said the warships, weighing between 30,000 and 40,000 tonnes, would be the “most lethal” warships and would carry nuclear weapons and weapons as well as missiles.
“We haven’t built warships since 1994. We were building ships during World War II, but we’re not building ships anymore. These state-of-the-art ships will be some of the most lethal surface warships. The announcement comes after the US seized two tankers off the coast of Venezuela this month and began tracking what it described as a “dark fleet” on Sunday (local time) after the ship refused to stop and continued sailing in international waters near Venezuela, CNN reported. The ship, identified as Bella 1, was sailing towards Venezuela to load oil when US Coast Guard personnel attempted to board the ship.
