A woman who claims to have had a romantic relationship with a quadruple amputee corn hole champion and the man accused of shooting her to death in a murder case that captured national attention has talked about being with both of them and said the accused killer has a “dark side.”

According to the sheriff’s office in Charles County, Maryland, Webber was carrying three passengers in his car on the night of March 22 when he began arguing with Wells, 27, who was sitting in the front seat, then shot him twice in the head.
Webber allegedly asked other passengers to help him remove Wells’ body from the car. But they refused, fled the vehicle and called police as Webber drove away with the victim.
Police later found Wells’ body in a local garden. They eventually tracked Webber and his car about 150 miles (240 km) away in Virginia, where he allegedly sought treatment at a hospital for an unspecified medical problem.
Investigators arrested Webber after he was released from the hospital. He faces charges of murder, assault and use of a firearm in a felony.
The reason for the argument or the reason for the shooting was not disclosed.
Webber was 10 months old when he contracted a serious bacterial infection that required the amputation of his legs and lower arms and a months-long hospital stay.
Despite his disabilities, he became a budding wrestler and football player, then became a champion in the sport of corn hole by throwing small bags filled with corn into a 6-inch hole on a wooden platform 27 ft away. He recorded numerous tournament wins in the American Cornhole League (ACL).
Her former doubles partner, Mike Hoffman, told the Guardian on March 24 that he was surprised to hear of his friend’s arrest.
“I’m angry, I’m sad; it sucks,” Hoffman said over the phone.
“If the allegations are true, he has made some terrible decisions.”
