India’s tariff rate will be reduced from 18% to 10%, a White House official said, after US President Donald Trump introduced a 10% universal tariff in response to the US Supreme Court decision that invalidated most of his broad trade measures. The ruling follows the Court’s ruling that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) does not give the president the authority to impose tariffs.
