Uttar Pradesh govt to set up agri-export facility near Noida Airport: Chief Secretary

Lucknow, 4 TEM (PTI) in order to increase the exports of horticultural products, the Uttar Pradesh government, on Friday, said in a statement that the Noida International Airport in Jewar plans to establish a first -class agricultural facility.

Singh said that the upcoming facility near the construction of six Jewar International Airport would be a game exchanger for agricultural exports. “All kinds of treatment and test facilities required for international exports will be presented to an integrated complex,” he said.
Explaining the need for such a center, Singh said that different countries have different phytosaniter requirements.
“For example, while the mangoes sent to the US need gamma radiation therapy, those for Japan require hot water vapor treatment. In addition, there are tests for pesticide residue levels and other parameters. From now on, there is no single place in India that all these exports are available under a single roof.” He said.
The authority continues negotiations with the World Bank to support this project. Once Operational, the facility will allow UTTAR Pradesh and neighboring states to be treated, tested, packaged and exported by Jewar directly through direct cargo planes.

Singh also reported that a team of Minister of Horticulture and senior officials will visit several countries to exhibit UP’s products, including CM Yogi Adityanath, under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath.
Noida International Airport is coming in the Jewar region of the Gautam Buddh Nagar region in Western Uttar Pradesh. While running behind the program, the first stage of Greenfield Airport was planned to be opened in 2024, but there is no official update about the launch of commercial activities in history.
