V.K. Santhosh Kumar elected CPI Kottayam district secretary

The Indian Communist Party (CPI) Kottayam Region Conference unanimously elected VK Santhosh Kumar as the party secretary of the party.

Mr. Kumar, who came from a communist family in Ponjar, started his organizational work in 1978 as the All India Student Federation (AISF) unit secretary. He also served as the Deputy Secretary of the Meenachil Taluk Committee of the Party. For 14 years, the TFI Poonjar has been the secretary of the Constitutional Committee, and then it has been ten years as the party’s deputy deputy. He is currently a member of the party’s state council.

Mr. Gumar is a member of the National Council of the All India Youth Federation (AIYF), including the President of Meenachil Taluk Toddy Workers ‘Union and President of the SUPPLYCO Employees Association, as the President of the Meenachil Liquor Industry Workers’ Union. He is also a member of the State Office Carrier of the Federation of Liquor Industry Workers and is a member of the Advisory Committee of the State Minimum Wage Council.

Criticism

Previously, the delegates who participated in the Regional Conference have created criticism against the ministers of the state government and the ministers of the state government. Critics pointed out that the government lost its leftist character and the department led by four CPIs performed low. More condemnation was directed to the finance department for withholding funds, so that he strangled departments led by the CPI. Meanwhile, the CPI state leadership was defined as weak and could not take a solid attitude on key issues.

AIYF representatives participating in the conference, even under the chairmanship of the conference, condemned the absence of youth representation and criticized the disrespect of leadership for young members and expressed their strong criticism of leadership. They accused the Party Regional Secretary of not participating in the AIYF meetings and claimed that they attempts to suppress the youth clothes under the party’s control.
