Vaishali Wins FIDE Grand Swiss Tournament

Samarkand (Uzbekistan): The Great Master of Indian R Vaishali won Fide Women Grand Switzerland for the second time and on Monday, and in the last round, former world champion Zhongyi Tan, after a challenging lottery, made a women’s candidates tournament. Vaishali is with a possible 11 points from eight points. Lagno was eliminated for candidates except Vaishali.

Vaishali had a slightly better tie score to win the tournament while playing with Zhongyi in a much higher row.

Indian GM won the tournament on the United Kingdom Island in 2023. The victory here shows that Indian women will soon be the center of attention like male colleagues.

Vaishali won six, lost one and shot the remaining four games, and proved only one point more than Lagno, a tie break in his average rival rating. Zafer means that the brothers, Vaishali and Praggnanandhaa will do again to the last limit to challenge the world champion.

None of the other Indians in Fide Grand Swiss could not make it for eight and two players.

Anish Giri was the winner in the open section while crushing Hans Moke Niemann of the United States.

Anish finished the tournament with eight points from a possible 11 points, and Matthias Bluebaum will finish the second and will go to the candidates.

While things are currently standing, Anish Giri and Matthias Bluebaum (from this tournament), the United States of America (on rating) Hikaru Nakamura, R Praggnanadhaa (tournamental performance) and Fabiano Caruana of the United States.

The last three points will be filled in the World Chess Cup in Goa next month. The winner of the candidates will challenge the world champion D Gukesh.

Although it seems that only one place has been guaranteed for the Indians in the men’s section, there are three who have reached the candidates in the female category.

Divya Deshmukh and Koneu Humpy were qualified after finishing the first and second in the last women’s World Cup, respectively. As Vaishali is now joining them, three Indian women are already in the struggle to win and win the candidates who will continue to try the title of women’s women’s chess.
