‘Varanasi’ Makes History in Antarctica

Directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu, the new film has achieved a rare global success by planning and executing key scenes in Antarctica, one of the most challenging and regulated shooting locations in the world.
The project is progressing quickly and is scheduled to be released in major theaters on April 7, 2027.
Struggling with extreme cold, unpredictable weather conditions and strict environmental regulations, Rajamouli reportedly designed key portions of the film against the stark white landscapes of Antarctica. Thus, Varanasi became the fifth film of the world to be shot on the continent, joining an elite list worldwide.
According to sources, the film crew is expected to go to Antarctica in the last week of February, which will be a turning point for Indian cinema.
