Varied Weather Conditions In AP

VISAKHAPATNAM: APSDMA Director General Prakhar Jain said that various weather conditions persisted in Andhra Pradesh and are likely to continue for the next two days as well.
He said that intense heat is expected to be seen in some regions, while unseasonal rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning may be seen in other regions.
According to him, a trough extending from Telangana, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu to the Gulf of Mannar is affecting weather conditions. As a result, light showers and thunderstorms are expected in some parts of Manyam, Alluri, Polavaram and Eluru districts on Sunday and Monday.
The highest temperature on Saturday was recorded at Vontimatta in Kadapa district at 45°C. Temperatures above 40°C were reported in 244 mandals across the state. Thunderstorms were also reported in parts of Alluri district.
High temperatures are expected in parts of Palnadu, Prakasam, Markapuram and Rayalaseema districts on Sunday. Severe heat wave conditions are expected in 27 mandals in these districts. Heatwave conditions may also occur in 25 mandals in Vizianagaram, Manyam, Alluri, Polavaram, Kakinada, East Godavari and Eluru districts.
Other maximum temperatures recorded include Gudur in Kurnool district at 44.3°C, Therannapalli in Anantapur at 44.1°C and Varadaiahpalem in Tirupati district at 43.5°C.
