Washington/Karakas: Venezuela is preparing for a face with the most powerful military machine in the world. President Nicolás Maduro told the armed forces to be ready for war. The navy remains awake. American warships have already replaced the Caribbean. The sky is patrolling by F-22 Raptors and F-35 Lightning IIS. If the United States decide to strike, can Venezuela hold the ground?

According to the Global Fire Power Index 2025, the gap between the two countries is surprising. Washington ranks 1st with a power index of 0.0744. Karakas ranks 50th with 0.8882 points.

Soldiers, manpower
The United States holds 1,328 million active unions and 799,000 reserves. Every year more than 4.4 million citizens reach military age. Venezuela is in 109,000 active personnel with only 8,000 reserves. Every year, only 625,000 citizens reach the service age. Manpower imbalance is overwhelming.
Air force
The US Air Force on all competitors with 13,043 fighter aircraft. The fleet includes the world’s most advanced secret warriors-F-22 Raptors and F-35 Lightning II.
Venezuela is fighting 229 aircraft, mostly former Russian Su-30MK2 jets and Chinese platforms. Maintenance problems have grounded many of them.
