Video shows injured Knott’s Berry Farm employee restrain guest as crowd cheers

A fight broke out Saturday night at Knott’s Berry Farm in Orange County after a guest tried to cut the line and was stopped by a worker, according to a witness who recorded the incident.

Video obtained by KTLA shows two guests and a security guard engaging in a fight near the park’s outdoor entrance area, with the crowd cheering and watching from behind metal barricades. It was seen that some people around recorded the scene on their phones.

An eyewitness said the incident occurred on Saturday, January 17, when a guest tried to cut the line and was refused by a worker. Authorities did not confirm that information Sunday afternoon.

The witness said the situation escalated and the same guest then attacked the security guard, causing the security guard’s nose to bleed.

Footage of the scene recorded the moments after the conflict began. Two guests are seen; one appears to be trying to mediate between another guest and a security guard with a nosebleed. The other guest manages to get around and hit the security guard, but is then immediately tackled to the ground by the security guard while nearby people begin to cheer.

The guard restrained the woman on the sidewalk and told her to put her hands behind her back, while another guard was seen standing nearby, monitoring the altercation and maintaining control of the area.

“Knott’s staff did an excellent job of de-escalating the situation and making it less traumatic; even though his nose was bleeding and he was being attacked by the woman, he didn’t use pepper spray or violence, he quickly got her to the ground,” the witness said.

The clip ends with the person still on the ground while security remains on scene. The witness said that after the video ended, law enforcement arrived on the scene and handcuffed both guests seen in the video.

In a statement to KTLA, Knott’s Berry Farm said it is “committed to providing a safe and orderly environment for all guests and does not tolerate inappropriate behavior.” The park said all visitors must abide by its Code of Conduct to maintain a family-friendly environment and confirmed that the Buena Park Police Department arrested two guests for violating that policy Saturday night.

Guests were removed from the venue for allegedly jumping the line before the situation escalated into a physical confrontation involving a park employee and a security guard. Both guests were arrested and removed from the park, authorities said.
