Vernon Kay continues to wear his wedding ring while watching Bolton Wanderers’ play-off victory after spending the weekend with ex Tess Daly amid ‘showbiz’s friendliest divorce’

Vernon Kay was still wearing his wedding ring when he headed to Wembley to watch his beloved Bolton Wanderers cruise to victory in Sunday’s League One play-off final.
The Radio 2 presenter, 52, split from Tess Daly, 57, earlier this month after 22 years of marriage and the couple are said to have had the ‘most amicable divorce in showbiz history’.
Following the split, Vernon was still showing off his wedding ring when speaking to Sky Sports News ahead of the play-off match.
Bolton Wanderers cruised to victory with a thrilling 4-1 win, ensuring the team won promotion back to the Championship.
In a joint statement posted on Instagram, Vernon and Tess announced that they have decided to part ways and continue to show “care and respect” for each other.
The ‘friendly exes’ met up at Pub In The Park last week as they took selfies with fans and hung out with pals in an incredibly friendly display.

It looks like Tess and Vernon, who share two children Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16, will remain amicable about sharing properties and business interests, as well as their reported £6million fortune.
In fact, sources say they are unlikely to fight over money, largely due to the couple earning high salaries at the BBC in recent years, making the process relatively smooth.
An insider said: ‘Vernon and Tess have used their money wisely and invested in both collaborative and solo projects.
‘But the fact that they both have high income streams means that they won’t need to fight for their joint wealth as they are individually well off.
‘This way they will get away from this division without taking a financial hit. ‘It’s pretty simple compared to most splits in showbiz.’
Vernon is thought to earn a salary of around £395,000 from his job at Radio 2; here he is one of the highest-paid presenters, taking over from Ken Bruce in the wee hours following the veteran broadcaster’s departure in 2023.
Tess, meanwhile, was paid around £400,000 a year as co-host of Strictly Come Dancing, which she left last December after 21 years.
The former model supplements her income by endorsing beauty products and her own swimwear brand, NAIA beach.
At the center of their joint fortune is their five-bedroom Buckinghamshire home, worth an estimated £3 million, which they bought 22 years ago for £1.18 million.
The TV presenter, 52, and Tess, 57, announced their shock split this month, admitting they were pained by the decision but determined to remain supportive parents to daughters Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16.
Vernon recently broke his silence on the split on his BBC Radio 2 show.
Thanking well-wishers for their support, he said: ‘I just want to say this on behalf of myself and Tess; Thank you, thank you for all your well wishes, they are much appreciated.’
They reportedly posted their split statement on Instagram while toasting champagne.
The couple ‘looked classy’ about their split, the Mirror said.
The couple also still live together on the same property in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
A source close to the pair told the publication: ‘After releasing the statement, Vernon and Tess took some time to toast each other and their future.
‘They just want the best for each other and their families. There was no major fallout, more of us slowly drifting apart and wanting different things.
‘They promised to remain friends and keep things classy when it comes to the breakup and their future interviews. They just want the best for each other.’
They began dating after meeting in 2001, and Vernon would pop the question on Christmas Day the following year.
Bolton won promotion to the Championship after beating Stockport County 4-1 on Sunday.
In the journey to victory, Ruben Rodrigues, who scored a 90’+4 goal from the penalty in the third minute, and S. Dalby took the lead in the 81st minute.
Stockport County helped Bolton to victory with an own goal from K. Wootton in the 64th minute.
