One Killed, One Injured In Road Mishap

Kurnool:One person died on the spot and another was seriously injured in a road accident that took place around midnight on Tuesday near Sitaramapuram village in Mahanandi mandal on Nandyal-Giddalur main road.

According to police, 22-year-old Muga Venkatakrishna of Gopavaram village in Mahanandi mandal and Thimmayya of Nandavaram village in Nandavaram mandal were heading to Nandyal railway station on a two-wheeler to see off their relatives. At the same time, a farmer had set out his tractor to dry paddy and was reversing.

Due to the glare of oncoming vehicles, two drivers could not notice the tractor and crashed into it. While Venkatakrishna died on the spot, Thimmayya was seriously injured and was shifted to Nandyal Government Hospital for treatment. Mahanandi police investigated the spot, registered a case and are investigating.

51-year-old car driver’s organ donation saved the lives of 5 people

visakhapatnam: A fifty-one-year-old auto driver from Visakhapatnam gives a new life to five people who became brain dead after an accident through organ donation.

Bobbili Ramesh, who lives with her husband and two children in Yendada, fell from the roof of her house on November 10 and suffered serious head injuries. Despite treatment in many hospitals, doctors could not stop the bleeding in the brain.

Ramesh was transferred to Medicover Hospital in Prime Palem on November 17, where the medical team made every effort to save him. However, he was declared brain dead on Tuesday.

Ramesh’s family offered to donate his organs after the hospital’s medical team received advice about the life-saving potential of organ donation.

Dr K Rambabu, Director, VIMS and state coordinator of Jeevan Daan, gave the permission for organ harvesting. Medical teams successfully harvested Ramesh’s liver, both kidneys and corneas; these organs will potentially save or transform five lives.

The organs were allocated to various hospitals in accordance with the seniority list of the Jeevan Daan protocol and were ensured to reach the patients who needed organ transplantation the most.

Minister says Divisema tragedy remains an unforgettable wound

vijayawada:Miners, Geology and Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra on Wednesday said that the Diviseema Uppena (tidal wave) disaster remains an indelible scar in the history of Andhra Pradesh.

He paid rich tributes to the victims at a commemoration event held in connection with the centenary celebrations of Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao in Avanigadda.

Recalling the devastation caused by the midnight tidal fury, Ravindra said thousands of people died in their sleep and destroyed almost 84 villages without a trace as the massive storm wave ravaged Divisema.

“The piles of bodies scattered throughout the area were grim evidence of the extent of this disaster,” he noted.

The Minister visited the photographic exhibition showing the scenes of the disaster and the tireless rehabilitation work carried out under the leadership of Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao. He noted that even decades later, survivors of the tragedy still shudder when they remember that night.

“Once described as the land blessed by the gods, Diviseema continues to bear the emotional scars of the tragedy,” Ravindra said.

Among those attending the program were senior BJP leader and former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and Avanigadda MLA Mandali Buddha Prasad.

A judicial investigation has been requested into a series of encounter murders

Vijayawada:The state committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has sought a judicial inquiry into a series of encounter killings that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday in Maredumilli organizational area of ​​Alluri Sitaramaraju district.

CPM general secretary V Srinivas Rao alleged that although the police had the legal opportunity to detain Maoist cadres and produce them before the court, they resorted to fake encounters. “CPI(M) strongly condemns these extrajudicial killings. All the 15 arrested from Eluru district were produced before the mobile court judge and sent to 14-day judicial remand in the central jail in Rajamahendravaram. The two people arrested in Kakinada were sent to the central jail in Rajahmundry. 4 people arrested in NTR district were sent to the courthouse.

Titan Intech signs MoU for display technology unit in Amaravati

Vijayawada: Titan Intech Limited has signed an MoU with Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to set up Integrated Display Electronics manufacturing facility worth Rs 250 crore in Amaravati.

The project will be located on a 20-acre industrial plot reserved for electronics clusters in the capital Amaravati. Once implemented, the facility will increase the production of high-value display technology equipment in the country and thus strengthen domestic supply chains.

Titan Intech representatives said more than 200 direct and 300 indirect jobs will be created, which will provide local employment and strengthen India’s skilled workforce.

Minister: Drainage construction in 123 civic institutions will cost 29,000 cr

Vijayawada:Municipal administration minister P. Narayana said it is estimated that it will cost Rs 29,000 crore to build drainage in 123 municipalities in the state.

The minister held a review meeting with officials and public representatives at the Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation office on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the state government has decided to start construction of sewers in the state on a priority basis in the next three years at a cost of Rs 5,000 Million.

Regarding Rajamahendravaram, the minister said that a 303 km drainage line will be constructed in and outside the town; They plan to carry out the 180-kilometer construction as a priority.

The minister announced the pending TDR bond issue within a month and called for regulation of unauthorized buildings and settlements as per BRS and LRS norms.

Publication of provisional list for allotment of seats for admission to UG, PG courses: Min.

Vijayawada:Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav, Dr. NTR directed the University of Health Sciences to first publish the provisional list for allotment of seats for both UG and PG courses and later publish the final list.

Recently, some students objected to allotment of seats for admission to MBBS course through NEET-UG by not granting seats to students who scored less than them in NEET-UG. Based on this, the university authorities corrected the technical deficiencies and allotted seats only to those who scored more points, leaving those who had already secured seats to be disappointed as the reserved seats were reallocated to deserving candidates based on merit.

When the issue was brought to the notice of the minister, he directed the university authorities to publish the provisional list of allotment of seats for admission and invite objections and later publish the final list of allotment of seats after making necessary changes as per merit to avoid any inconvenience to the students.

Accordingly, the university will announce the tentative list for allotment of seats for admission to PG courses as well as UG courses like BDS and others.
