Following the arrest of expelled Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil in a fresh sexual assault case, the woman who first accused him shared an emotional message on social media reflecting her trauma, faith and the pain endured by the survivors. His post, published on Sunday, came hours after Mamkooathil was taken into custody.

In her message, the woman thanked God for giving her the strength to speak out despite the pain, scrutiny and sense of betrayal she said she experienced. He wrote that truth, though hidden for a long time, is always seen and heard by a higher power.

‘You saw what was done in the dark. ‘You heard the screams that never reached the world,’ he wrote, describing how faith became a source of resilience in moments of extreme vulnerability.

Reference to Forced Abortions

The survivor’s post made a deeply personal reference to unborn children and linked their suffering to allegations that Mamkooathil forced victims to undergo abortions, including the woman in the latest case. She described how the victims were left shattered, both physically and emotionally, after their bodies were violated and their pregnancies ended against their will.

‘May our angel babies forgive us for trusting the wrong people,’ she wrote, adding that unborn children deserve peace, free from violence and fear, from a society that has failed to protect their mothers.

He stated that the memories of unborn children will remain forever, their existence is important and mothers will carry them in their hearts until we meet again.

The First Complaint That Started the Case

The author of the post became the first woman to go to police, claiming that Mamkooathil sexually assaulted her multiple times and forced her to terminate her pregnancy. Shortly after his complaint was registered, Mamkooathil was reported to be in hiding.

A Thiruvananthapuram sessions court denied him anticipatory bail in the first case. However, the Kerala High Court later granted him interim protection from arrest until January 21, when the matter will be heard again.

Multiple Cases and Legal Developments

Recently, the survivor’s ex-husband also made public allegations, claiming that Mamkooathil was trying to implicate him in the case. Meanwhile, in a separate case involving alleged sexual harassment against a woman in Bengaluru, a sessions court in Thiruvananthapuram granted bail to Mamkooathil.

With multiple cases currently under investigation, the developments have sparked widespread interest as survivors continue to seek justice amid complex legal proceedings.
