Victoria Mboko beats Naomi Osaka to win maiden WTA title at Canadian Open

Wildcard Victoria Mboko won the title of WTA from behind to beat Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka four times in the Canadian Open Final.

For the second consecutive second match, the 18-year-old Canadian had to show flexibility after accepting the opening set, but walked to win 2-6 6-4 6-1.

Mboko ranks 333th in the world, but is expected to rise to 34 after a win that pleases the crowd of the house.

“I was very happy to play in Montreal for the first time. I only remember feeling tense, but I get that moment as much as possible.” He said.
