A. Florida The mother was arrested Saturday after an adult allegedly kicked a child after chaos broke out at a youth football game, authorities said.
Renee Lambert detained and charged child abuse without great bodily harm and resisting an officer after allegedly breaking into a Pop Warner game at Brooks Park in Fort Myers and kicking a teenage player, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies working in the security of the park said that they were called to the field due to a fight between the players after the game. Video reviewed by police shows Lambert running onto the field and kicking a young player, authorities said.

Lambert claimed a child hit him with a helmet, which prompted him to take action, but investigators said that claim was not supported by evidence.

“So you’re mad at them for hitting me?” Lambert asks.
“I’m angry at an adult because attacking a child” the officer replies.
The officer then orders, “Stop! You are now in custody.”
“No, I’m not. Goodbye… take your hands off me,” he replied.

Bodycam footage captured a tense, profanity-laced confrontation as deputies tried to detain him.
“You are currently listed as a suspect – you were detained” the officer said again a few minutes later.
He then demands, “Where’s number nine? Go get number nine.”
“A child?” the officer asks.
“Yes.”
“You’re an adult,” he replies.
The footage ends with a chaotic scene where deputies attempt to handcuff Lambert.

In a separate incident last month, another Florida mother was arrested for allegedly leaving her 12-year-old daughter alone at a bar at Universal CityWalk while she went elsewhere to drink, authorities said.
Amanda Thorpe, 33, of Lake Mary, was charged with child neglect for allegedly leaving her daughter behind to go drinking at another bar, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
