Vigilantes show French cops can stop the boats, but just don’t want to | UK | News

Standing in the middle of the sand dunes of northern France, two vigilantes filmed themselves unearthing a boat engine and smashing it to stop at least one people-smuggling gang’s trip to the UK. The BBC would emphasize that these ‘images have not been verified’; but after disturbing allegations of bias on BBC Verify this confirmed it was true.

And two men from the Raise the Colors campaign group, which flies patriotic flags across the UK, have proven what we all know by posting a single video. French police could easily stop criminal gangs making millions of euros by packing immigrants and asylum seekers dangerously into inflatable boats and shipping them to the UK, but they don’t want to.

As a quick aside, my local village in Greater Manchester is a daily nightmare if you want to go to the shops for a pint of milk.

As soon as you pull up to a ‘one hour only’ parking lot, two Civil Enforcement Officers (traffic cops in old money) pull away from the sun on their scooters like Messerschmitt 109s and start filming your drive and taking photos to record when your watch starts.

More on that later.

In 2023, the UK pledged £500 million over three years to increase law enforcement in France with 500 police officers, surveillance drones and new detention centers in France to disrupt trafficking gangs and prevent crossings.

But still the boats come one after another; They rarely pause when an Atlantic storm churns the Channel, making passage nearly impossible.

The two young men from Raise the Colors did not use satellite tracking, covert surveillance or subterfuge to stop at least one illegal incursion on our shores; They wandered through the dunes on a police-free beach and easily found a partially buried boat engine and smashed it.

So why are we paying £500 million to President Macron?

Home Affairs Minister Shabana Mahmood has admitted illegal immigration is “tearing the country apart” as she seeks to overhaul asylum policy.

according to Oxford University Migration ObservatoryIt was determined that approximately 37,000 people will cross the English Channel in small boats in 2024.

Its data shows that the majority of arrivals on small boats last year were men over the age of 18 (about 76%), and that just six countries accounted for 70 percent of all arrivals between 2018 and 2024: Iran (17%), Afghanistan (15%), Iraq (12%), Albania (10%), Syria (9%) and Eritrea (8%).

Last time I checked, Albania is not a war zone.

It borders Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Greece, and is not far from Croatia or Italy. Many of these countries are actually very popular holiday destinations for Brits. Again, definitely not war zones.

If Albanians were traveling overland to the French coast, they would have to travel through Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and then the whole of France to reach Calais.

These are all rich, developed European countries that can offer them shelter; Therefore, it is fair to say that Albanians coming to the UK are economic migrants, not refugees.

As of the year ending June 2025, 43,309 people arrived in the UK by small boats; This is up 38% from the same period in 2024.

How is this possible? So how else can you increase ‘ticket sales’ if you are an international criminal who makes money by smuggling people? You are advertising.

The government attempted to block UK social media ads under the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Act.

But the UK isn’t a hard sell because we shower everyone with freebies – often taxpayer-funded – the moment they set foot on our shores.

We give all immigrants a living allowance of £45 a week, which includes refreshments and luxuries on arrival, accommodation, three meals a day, free new clothes and fashionable shoes; Some charities provide mobile phones so they can easily call their friends and ask them to come along.

So, yes, the long-term solution to stopping the boats is to cripple illegal gangs, but our attractive free grants and Europe’s free movement of people, allowing EU citizens to live, work and study in other member states – the cornerstone of the single market – must also be addressed.

By the way, what is the short-term solution? Literally destroying boats before anyone steps foot on the boat, preventing the boats from getting underway in the first place.

Raise the Colors showed that two teenagers could easily do this, but if France wants to get rid of illegal immigrants itself, why would it be in their interest to detain them on its shores any longer than necessary?

First, let’s demand the repayment of this £500 million. Imagine what we could do with this?

The salary of a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) is around £30,000. More than 16,500 CEOs could be employed in this dosh.

So let’s restart Operation Dynamo, the mass evacuation of Allied troops from the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940, and send a flotilla of small boats filled with eager traffic wardens to the French coast with orders to ‘smash the engines’.

If you tell them the boats can only stay on the beach for an hour, we’ll cripple our inflatable fleet by Christmas.
