While TVK has emerged as the largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly by winning 108 seats in the 2026 elections and is 10 seats short of having a single-handed majority to form the government, the party is mulling over its future course of action.
The party effectively has 107 MLAs as TVK president C. Joseph Vijay won from both Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchi East. On Tuesday morning, May 5, 2026, Mr. Vijay held a meeting with the party’s MLA candidates at the party headquarters in Panaiyur on the outskirts of Chennai.
