Vijay should strongly oppose Mekedatu dam plan: Seeman

Seeman, chief coordinator of Naam Tamilar Katchi, said on Sunday that Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay should condemn the statement of Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka D K Shivakumar that Tamil Nadu has no right to oppose the Karnataka government’s plan to build a dam at Mekedatu along the Cauvery river.
Mr Seeman, in a statement, said Mr Shivakumar’s statement smacked of “arrogance” and showed they were trying to “claim exclusive ownership over the water rights of the Cauvery river”.
Strongly condemning these remarks, he urged Mr. Vijay to show strong opposition against the Karnataka government’s initiative to build a dam in Mekedatu.
