A somewhat remorseful pedophile has been jailed for sex crimes against two children, including the rape of a girl under 13. Jimmy Fisher, of Efford Way, Lymington, was sentenced to 24 years in prison on July 6 after admitting multiple charges against him at Southampton Crown Court on Friday, May 15.
In addition to the rape of a girl under the age of 13, Fisher was also convicted of rape, attempted rape, sexual activity with a child, and taking, making and possessing indecent photographs of a child between 2020 and 2025. Speaking during sentencing, the judge described Fisher as a dangerous criminal who “disgusted and frightened” his victims. He also highlighted the lack of remorse Fisher showed during interviews.
PC Rhiannon Winstanley, of the Child Abuse Investigation Team, said: “I would like to put on record my praise and admiration for the young victims in this case and the courage and determination they have shown throughout this case.”
He added: “While I know this outcome alone will never erase the memory of what happened to them, I hope it will allow them and their families to move on with their lives, safe in the knowledge that Fisher has now been punished for his crimes and can no longer harm any other innocent child.
“These were unimaginable crimes, but thanks to the courage of the victims and their determination to see justice done, all children are now much safer with him locked up.”
Addressing other victims of sexual crime directly, PC Winstanley encouraged other victims to come forward and speak to police.
“We take such allegations extremely seriously and work hard to bring offenders to justice,” they said. “This case should also send a very clear message to other criminals that we will always work tirelessly to ensure your crimes are brought to justice, regardless of when they were committed.”
As well as the time Fisher will spend in prison from now on, Fisher was also given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
He was also given a deprivation order for confiscated devices and banned from working with children and vulnerable adults. Fisher will be eligible for release on six-year license after serving 18 years in prison.
