These are spaces for seekers, devotees and silent souls. Let us treat every inch of these prayer rooms as a Punya Kshetra. Let them remain as realms of deep silence and profound spiritual connection.”

Madhavi Latha sings Durga Suktam at Delhi Airport
The camera’s frame captures some burqa-clad women in the room. While the post received various reactions from people, some praised Madhavi Latha for her public display of dedication and faith. Others accused him of “breaking the rules and making others uncomfortable.”
Congress’ National Coordinator for Social Media and Digital Platforms Mohammad Waseem tagged the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and former Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and asked the authorities to take action against him. “@AAI_Official Please take action because the masjid is only for silent prayer and meditation. This woman is breaking the rules and disturbing other people by praying with sound and camera,” he wrote. Another said: “SILENCE must be maintained in the Prayer Room and Library. Why are you chanting loudly?” he asked.

Another person, Sathyamoorthy V, was harsher, writing: “Stop your nonsense. You are making a show of being religious by framing some Muslims in your frame… but in reality you are a hate monger and a bigot.”
Madhavi Latha’s supporters also pushed back as harshly as her critics. “How provocative is reading Durga Stuti,” one person asked.
“Hats off. Prayer rooms in airports have effectively become prayer rooms. Remember, taking over public spaces is very important for Hindus,” another person said.
Another netizen thanked the BJP leader and said, “I always wonder where to do my Kriya yoga practices when I am at the airport. I will use this place next time. Thank you for letting us know.” Another said, “Next time I fly I will travel with my Hanuman Chalisa. I made good use of the room!” he commented.
