‘Virgin River’ actor’s friend knew ‘big trouble’ morning of disappearance

A close friend of “Virgin River” actor Stewart McLean, who was found dead days after he was reported missing, knew something was terribly wrong the morning the actor disappeared.

In a new interview with Canadian PressActing coach Jeff Seymour described the gut feeling he felt after McLean didn’t show up for filming one day.

“He was meticulous about everything and there was no way he would ruin everything or sleep too late. As soon as I heard he hadn’t arrived on Saturday morning, I knew there was a big problem,” Seymour told the television station.

“It doesn’t make any sense. He was incredibly aware of the situation,” he added. “I bring this up because I don’t know for the life of me how anyone would understand this issue [Stewart]”

Seymour, who has been friends with McLean for eight years, said his friend was loved by many people and had no bad blood with anyone.

“Everyone loved this guy, he wasn’t engaging in nefarious activities or running around with another crowd. I mean, he was kind of a loner,” she told the outlet. “He spent a lot of time at his home in Squamish, reading and being there.”

“It’s just a shocker,” he continued. “I would love to see justice served.”

Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police The RCMP in British Columbia issued a press release Thursday saying investigators had found evidence that led them to believe McLean was the victim of a homicide.

“Squamish RCMP launched an investigation and through their investigative efforts uncovered evidence that led investigators to believe Mr. McLean was the victim of a homicide.” press release stated.

The statement continued: “On May 20, IHIT (Integrated Homicide Investigation Team) commissioned and assumed responsibility for the investigation. Squamish RCMP continues to work closely with IHIT and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) to advance the investigation.”

“As the investigation continues, homicide investigators are working to collect and analyze evidence, review CCTV footage, and conduct interviews to establish a timeline of Mr. McLean’s activities prior to May 15, 2026,” the publication reported.

McLean has appeared in popular TV series including: Netflix’s “Virgin River” “Arrow”, “Happy Face” and “Murder in a Small Town”.
