Virginia city roasted for encouraging people to snitch on neighbors celebrating Fourth of July with fireworks

The city of Alexandria, Virginia, is pouring cold water on fireworks for the Fourth of July.
America’s 250th birthday is this Saturday, and excitement in the country is incredibly high. It’s always a good day to celebrate USA.
Independence Day gives people a 100% justifiable reason to take things to the next level.

Don’t plan on lighting fireworks in Alexandria to celebrate.

Alexandria government roasted over ridiculous anti-fireworks tweet
The Alexandria government tweeted a clear warning about fireworks on Wednesday and encouraged you to snitch on your neighbors.
The tweet announcing the city’s plans read in part, “Fireworks are illegal in Alexandria, including sparklers. Report illegal fireworks by calling 311.” The statement was included.
It sounds like it’s coming straight from Stalin’s communist mouth. Are you snitching on your neighbors because of sparklers? It looks like something out of Pyongyang, North Korea.
I’m not the only one who feels this way. The reactions to X are certainly angering the Alexandrian government.
Sometimes resistance is an act of patriotism left in such a situation. I say this as someone who isn’t even a fireworks fan.

However, I understand being a proud American and celebrating our Independence Day. Fireworks, cold beer, hot grill and spending time with good people.

It’s a simple formula that has worked for a long time. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.
