Volkswagen to close jointly-owned China plant, reports Handelsblatt

Story: Volkswagen and Chinese partner SAIC will close their common facilities in Nanjing, China.

According to reports in the German daily Handelsblatt newspaper on Friday.

The production was already stopped by referring to a few familiar people.

And the closure will take place in the second half of the year.

VW did not respond immediately to the request for comments sent by E -mail.

Reuters reported in September that the German automobile manufacturer plans to stop production in the nangering facility and referred to a person with direct information on the subject.

The car manufacturer would slowly shift the production of Passat family cars to a nearby factory in the same East Jiangsu province.

Volkswagen, the best -selling car manufacturer in China, is experiencing a decrease in its market share.
