UK weather maps show 521 miles of snow – these counties will miss out | Weather | News

Cold weather is on the way for Brits, with the latest weather maps showing it will snow.

WXCHARTS maps show that snowfall could extend from the northernmost parts of Scotland to Stoke-on-Trent on November 21.

The maps show a large purple band indicating areas where the cold weather will affect.

Maps show 521 miles of snowfield from John O’ Groats to Stoke-on-Trent.

By 6am, much of the UK will see rain, with the snowfall remaining mostly in Scotland.

By 12 noon, maps show patches of snow may be visible in other parts of England.

In the Lake District, wider parts of Cumbria, Scarborough and Redcar may see some snowfall.

The Met Office’s forecasts say: “Colder conditions currently affecting the far north of the UK are likely to spread southwards, affecting all backgrounds early in the period.

“We may see less cold conditions initially, with some clouds, rain and possibly snow in the hills affecting parts of the west.

“Later on Tuesday, it became clear that colder conditions would spread southwards, bringing snow showers to the north and the first frosts of the season in many parts of the south.

“Uncertainty increases later in the period, but a trend towards more variable conditions is possible, with occasional rain or showers and perhaps occasional snow on the hills in the north. Temperatures are likely to return to near-average levels overall.”
