Tarun Joshi Appointed Future City CP in Major Telangana IPS Reshuffle

Hyderabad: In a major administrative overhaul, the Telangana government on Friday announced the transfer and posting of several senior IPS officers. VISIT.No. orders given within the scope of. Law No. 535, drafted by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, will come into force from 1 May 2026.
The reshuffle concerns key departments such as Internal Affairs, Vigilance, Intelligence and city policing, and signals a strategic repositioning of senior executives ahead of the new moon.
Important Announcements and Shifts
Shikha Goel (1994 Batch): Goel, currently Director General (Vigilance and Enforcement), has been appointed Principal Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government. He will continue to have full additional charge (FAC) of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau and Forensic Science Laboratory.
Dr. Tarun Joshi (2004 Batch): The current Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is shifting to a high-profile field post as Future City Police Commissioner. He will replace G. Sudheer Babu, who is scheduled to retire on April 30.
Devendra Singh Chauhan (1997 Batch): Transitioning from the Addl role. DGP (Personnel), Chauhan, will take over the posts of Director General (Vigilance and Enforcement) and Former Principal Secretary, General Administration Department.
Avinash Mohanthy (2005 Batch): Previously Commissioner of Police Malkajgiri, Mohanthy was posted as Director General of Drug Control Administration and Director of Prohibition and Excise. He will also take on the additional role of Director of ACB.
B. Sumathi (2006 Batch): The IGP of Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) will now head Malkajgiri Commissionerate as the new Commissioner of Police.
Intelligence and Personnel Changes
The government has also adjusted roles in the state’s intelligence wing. Intelligence IGP Sri Kartikeya (2006 Batch) was given additional charge of SIB (Intelligence) after B. Sumathi was moved to Malkajgiri.
Meanwhile, Shahnawaz Qasim (2003 Batch) moved from Drug Control Administration to become IGP, Multi Zone-II and also took on the additional charge of IGP (Personnel).
