“Perth Park will be Western Australia’s premier entertainment and sports precinct,” Cook said.
And today he further defended the controversial project.
“What we’ve always said is that it would provide an opportunity to activate the Burswood Peninsula. It’s now come together as Perth Park, a multi-use facility,” he said.
“Yes, there is a racetrack. No surprises there and it will host a major street track event once a year. But in the meantime it will be a great opportunity for hospitality businesses, cycling communities, sporting communities of all abilities and people to continue to recreate and enjoy this area.”
“We understand that motorsport is not for everyone, but there is something for everyone at Perth Park.”
