Waitrose set for massive expansion in 1 UK region after nailing down key site | UK | News

Waitrose is preparing to launch the first distribution center in the South West as part of a millions of pounds of plan aimed at supporting growth and sustainability in the region.
The 360,000 square meter facility of Mountpark’s luxury supermarket in the Bristol 360 development is expected to be opened by the end of 2026. There will be a place to deliver to about 50 stores and support new branches in the region. Waitrose said that the investment will help to cut off the supply chain mileage and save 2,225 tons of CO2 each year. This supports the objectives of eliminating fossil fuel use by 2030 and reaching net zero carbon by 2035.

“It will enable us to provide better service to our customers in the region, to supply our existing stores more efficiently and to reduce our operating costs and carbon emissions. Mountpark’s modern and sustainable features make it a perfect harmony for our business.”
The Bristol 360 facility includes more than 1,200 solar panels and Breeam received an extraordinary ‘rating with an EPC A+ certificate. The properties include landscape open areas, roof terrace and strip glasses that increase natural light along the building.

Waitrose confirmed that he will soon appoint a logistics partner to make sure that the company operates and meet all operational needs of the company.
The movement comes after the last two stores in Bristol: in 2027, a full -sized branch opens in Brabazon, and this year a market that was later released in Arches.
This new center will participate in Waitrose’s four regional distribution center networks in Aylesford, Bracknell, Brinklow and Leyland, and three national sites in Milton Keynes, Greenford and Reading.
The Bristol 360 location is located in the Central Park of Avonmouth, an important logistics area in the South West, and uses more easily highway access after the new M49 junction is completed.
