Walkers announces major new crisps change you’ll notice at Tesco, Sainsbury’s or Asda | UK | News

Walkers has once again dropped its much-loved crisp range. This marks the second time in four years that snacks have been withdrawn.

The company first discontinued the series in 2022, then brought it back two years later. However, Walkers has confirmed that the Crinkles range will be withdrawn once again, with remaining packs only available until existing stocks run out after production ceases in February.

A spokesperson told The Sun: “Walkers Crinkles will be hitting shelves soon after a great run. “We know some fans may be disappointed, but they can still choose from our range of great-tasting crisps, from our new Walkers Oven flavors Slow Roasted Beef and Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Basil to our bold Walkers MAX flavours.

“Expanding our portfolio allows us to focus on producing more of the flavors people love most.”

First introduced in 2011, the popular snack was known for its ridged crinkle-cut shape and was available in three flavors: Simply Sea Salt, Cheddar and Onion, and Salt and Malt Vinegar.

The chips were eventually discontinued in 2022, and the company previously told a customer online that it had “no immediate plans” to bring Crinkles back.

Fans were thrilled when Walkers announced the crisps would be returning to shelves in 2024. Since then, the range has received many compliments from shoppers.

One of them said: “I buy these Walkers Crinkle crisps regularly and one packet is never enough!”

Another added: “Whoever made the decision to bring Crinkles back, please give them a huge pay rise. They’re the best chips out there.”

But unfortunately for loyal fans, the much-loved snack is now facing the ax for a second time.
