Washington lawmakers pass new EV law that could upend Tesla’s dominance: ‘Great news for consumers’

With an overwhelming vote by Washington state lawmakers, Tesla will no longer be the only electric vehicle maker allowed to sell directly to consumers in the state.
Accordingly ElectrekSince 2014, Tesla has been taking advantage of a franchise model on its own, allowing it to bypass local dealerships and sell directly to buyers. Senate Bill 6354 changes this dynamic.
