According to Kathmandu Post, the demonstrations in Kathmandu rapidly returned to violence and forced the authorities to apply a curfew on the locks of the capital.

After the protesters left the barricades and entered the limited areas near Parliament, a peaceful march began as it increased. While demonstrators chant the anti -government slogans, demonstrators launched tree branches and water bottles while police made retaliation with water balls, tearrs and rubber bullets. Some protesters reportedly violated the parliamentary compound and increased tensions further.

KATMANDU Regional Administration Office Response

In response to the protest, Kathmandu Regional Administration Office expanded the curfew on the curfew applied to the capital Baleshwar region.

The new curfew now includes several high security areas such as the Vice President’s residence in Lainchaur, the residence of Maharajgunj, the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, and all the adjacent areas, such as Kathmandu Post, such as the Vice President’s residence (Shital Niwas).

According to Kathmandu Post, protests come after the Nepal government’s decision to ban 26 indifferent social media platforms, including commonly used applications such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube and Snapchat.
