Thai authorities deport Luthra brothers to India

Thai authorities on Tuesday, December 6, 2025, deported Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra, co-owners of the Goa nightclub where 25 people died in a fire on December 6, to India.

The deportation took place amid an ongoing investigation into the deadly fire; This triggered widespread outrage and led to an investigation by nightclub management into alleged safety breaches and negligence.

The Luthras, who are co-owners of ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub in Arpora in North Goa, left for Phuket, Thailand, shortly after the fire incident. An Interpol Blue Corner Notice was published about them.

The duo were detained in Phuket by Thai authorities on December 11, following the intervention of the Indian mission, which was in close contact with the Thai government in the incident.

Several videos circulating online showed the Luthra brothers at Bangkok airport before their departure.

They will be handed over to Indian authorities upon arrival for further legal proceedings in the case.

Five managers and staff were arrested by the Goa Police in connection with the fire.
