‘We were back to zero’

Romantic Drama Laila Majnu, starring Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary, made a flop at the box office after its release in 2018. However, he later won a cult again in 2024, and in his last interview, Triptii shared that he felt worse for Avinash, as the Film failed in 2018.
Tal Speaking with Filmfare, Triptii said, “Laila Majnu was special because it was my first leading role. Woh Film Hai Jisme Maine Seekhi Thi (I learned to move from this film). Initially, I realized that I did the acting workshop and this was a very interesting thing. Kashmir cried for 20 or even 24 hours at that time.
Also, “I didn’t do well, I felt very disappointed because I went back to zero. I was here for at least two years. But Avinash Tiwary was here for 14 years. But I felt bad for him. But I knew it would be appreciated.
Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri will be seen in front of Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Romeo’ in the face of Shahid Kapoor. The film is also with Avinash Tiwary, Randeep Hooda, Vikrant Massey, Nana Patekar and Disha Patani. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film will be broadcast in cinemas on February 13, 2026 for Valentine’s Day next year.
