Airline to pay $105 million to customers over cancelled COVID flights
Qantas settled a class-action lawsuit filed by customers who paid for flights canceled during COVID, agreeing to pay $105 million.
The settlement, which is subject to Federal Court approval, will see the airline pay $105 million to affected customers.
The class action lawsuit arises from Qantas flights scheduled to depart between January 1, 2020 and November 1, 2022, which were canceled by the airline as COVID shut down the aviation industry.
Ticket holders claimed that the airline had breached its contractual obligations regarding refunds. No liability will be accepted under the terms of the settlement agreement.
