Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ‘last chance of redemption’ | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are hoping to get more opportunities in Hollywood, a source has claimed. The Sussexes co-produced a documentary about the Girl Scouts selling cookies under their group Archewell Productions, and were recently photographed together at the Sundance festival in Utah.
A source said the Sussex team were “exploring business opportunities”. They said: “Frankly, there’s a lot going on in this documentary. It honestly feels like this is their last chance at redemption, and this whole Hollywood experiment hangs in the balance.”
Source told Page Six: “Harry and Meghan would have jetted out of Park City like royalty just a few years ago. Over the years, they’ve hovered high on Netflix and Ted Sarandos with a lucrative overall deal on speed dial.”
When Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals, they signed a deal with Netflix reportedly worth £75 million at the time, and their pitch to the streaming giant included a self-titled docuseries covering their love story and royal exit; Meghan’s lifestyle show With Love, Meghan; and Polo – a documentary series looking at the world of elite sports.
Last year, it was announced that the couple had signed a new, more flexible deal with Netflix, giving the company a “first look” option at any of the couple’s ideas.
During a conversation at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit 2025, Meghan said: “My husband and I were in an overall agreement with Netflix, and not just in a Higher Ground-like agreement with the Obamas’ agreement; it was now in a first-look agreement, the extension of which, when it came due, was an incredible sign of the strength of our partnership.”
In 2023, the couple and Spotify “mutually decided to part ways” after Meghan had only one podcast called Archetypes released.
Meghan later signed a deal with Lemonada Media to launch the podcast ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’, which received mixed reviews. It is unknown whether the second series will be broadcast or not.
