West Asia crisis: Iran to restart domestic flights amid tensions with Israel and US

Based on progress in US-Iran diplomatic talks, Iran’s aviation security regulator has outlined a phased reopening of airspace following the resumption of domestic flight operations starting Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

According to local media reports, it was reported that Iran Air will resume domestic flight operations as of Wednesday, after more than 50 days of airspace closure triggered by the tension between Iran, the USA and Israel, which peaked on February 28.
