West Bengal Election Result: R G Kar victim’s mother Ratna Debnath of BJP leading by 5067 votes in Panihati

Kolkata: Ratna Debnath, mother of rape murder victim RG Kar and BJP candidate, is leading by 5067 votes against the Trinamool Congress candidate in Panihati assembly constituency after the second round of counting, EC data shows.

While Debnath got 13784 votes, Tirthankar Ghosh of TMC got 8717 votes.

Her daughter, a practicing doctor, was raped and murdered in Kolkata’s state-run RG Medical College and Hospital in August 2024.
