West Wing actor accused of child sex abuse on set

Honolulu: Authorities in New Mexico have issued an arrest warrant for director and Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield to face child sex abuse charges.
An investigator with the Albuquerque Police Department filed a criminal complaint in support of the charge, stating that a child reported that Busfield touched him inappropriately. Allegedly the events took place on the set CharwomanA TV series directed by and starring Busfield.
Busfield is known for his shows West Wing, in your thirties And Field of Dreams.
The boy said the first incident occurred when he was seven years old and that Busfield touched him three or four times. Busfield allegedly touched her five or six times on another occasion when she was eight years old.
The child’s mother reported to Child Protective Services that the abuse occurred between November 2022 and the spring of 2024, the complaint said.
Busfield’s lawyer and representative did not immediately respond to email messages seeking comment on Saturday (AEDT).
The charge relates to two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor, an arrest warrant signed by a judge said.
According to the complaint, the child, identified only by his initials, was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. A social worker documented Busfield saying she had nightmares about him touching her and woke up scared.
The boy was reportedly afraid to tell anyone because Busfield was the director, fearing they would get mad at him.
