Wetherspoon is bringing back its popular 10-day event and offering beers for as little as £2.99. brasserie The giant has confirmed that the Wetherspoon Craft Cider Festival will kick off on Friday, July 31st and run until Sunday, August 9th.
15 ciders from 15 producers will be exhibited Wetherspoon Pubs in the UK. Punters can choose from classic cider, flavored cider or perry, with prices ranging from £2.99 to £3.49.
“Whether you’re a traditionalist who likes to stick to the classic cider or you’re keen on something a little fruitier, you’re sure to find an option that will tickle your taste buds,” Wetherspoon said in a statement.
All available ciders can be ordered via the Wetherspoon app. Tasting notes will be available for each cider featured in the bars.
Wetherspoons operates 793 managed pubs and 23 franchise sites across the UK.
Earlier this month, the chain reported slower-than-expected sales growth and warned again about profits, dashing investors’ hopes for a boost from the World Cup and warmer weather.
The pub giant recorded a 4% increase in sales in the three months to July 19 compared to the same period last year.
While sales at the pub chain have increased on a year-on-year basis, some investors were hopeful sales momentum would move in a more positive direction following the recent slowdown in trading.
Wetherspoon boss Tim Martin warned the company could miss its profit target, adding to comments made in May that Government-related policy costs would weigh on the chain’s financial performance.
It has previously stated it will face extra costs of £60 million linked to pay rises and National Insurance contributions this year.
Susannah Streeter, Wealth Club’s chief investment strategist, previously said: “Wetherspoon is being forced to swallow a bitter mix of high labour, food, energy, repairs and business rates that continue to eat into margins.
“These pressures are unlikely to go away anytime soon.”
