What Australia’s senators really think of Senate estimates

The Senate estimates that debates are suffering because bureaucrats waste valuable time, and scheduling problems mean the public and media miss important debates; But a group of senators say social media is having a net positive impact on getting information to voters Crikey.
As we near the end of the current round of estimates, we surveyed several senators about what they think is working and what isn’t about the process. We heard back from Greens Senator David Shoebridge, independent senators David Pocock and Fatima Payman and Labor Senator Helen Polley.
