What caused Kurnool bus accident? Who is accountable? Congress issues BIG statement…

At least 20 passengers died when a Hyderabad-Bengaluru bus caught fire after hitting a motorcycle on NH-44 near Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.

At least 20 people died when a bus caught fire near the city of Kurnool.

What caused the fire that quickly turned the Hyderabad-Bengaluru bus into an inferno and killed at least 20 passengers? At 3.30 am on Friday morning, the air-conditioned bus with 40 passengers on board turned into a fireball on National Highway 44 near Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool city. Unofficial reports indicate that 32 people were burned to death. The investigation has begun and will take at least a few days to conclude, so it is too early to determine the exact cause. If reports are to be believed, the bus crashed into the fuel tank after hitting a motorcycle that was dragged into it. It caused an explosion and set the bus on fire, which spread quickly. Most of the passengers were sleeping when the flames engulfed them.

Rahul Gandhi wants accountability

In what can be described as the beginning of a political conflict over a tragedy, Congress and TDP blamed each other for the tragedy. Demanding responsibility for the loss of lives, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said such repeated accidents raise serious questions about the safety of public transport systems. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the tragic incident that resulted in the loss of many precious lives was extremely saddening.

Expressing his condolences, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said it was extremely tragic and painful that so many innocent people lost their lives in the horrific bus fire accident. In his post on X, he wrote: “I express my deepest condolences to the grieving families of all passengers who lost their lives in this tragedy and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.” He added: “Repeated accidents like these raise serious questions about the safety of our public transport systems. Passenger safety is a top priority and ensuring accountability for these accidents, alongside responsibility for vehicle maintenance, is essential.”
