Popular Perth surf and street wear brand Neptune’s Nephew closes after 11 years

The popular Perth clothing brand known for its unique and fun graphics is closing shop after more than a decade of selling designs in Australia and around the world.
Neptune’s Nephew, founded by Noah Dennis in 2015, is closing after Dennis said what started as a school project in his senior year “quickly turned into something I could never have imagined.”
Prioritizing comfort and inspired by surfing and streetwear, the brand was loved for its colorful and interesting graphics produced by screen printing on t-shirts, sweaters and hats.
Dennis, who also works as a menswear designer at Rusty Australia, said he was forced to close his business after it became impossible to balance both jobs.
But he promised his loyal customers and friends that while it was “goodbye for now”, it wouldn’t last forever.
“It’s been a wild ride, from screen printing each t-shirt by myself and spending hours heat-sealing the prints with an iron, to overcoming the challenges of scaling the business, moving production to China and renting a warehouse here in Perth,” Dennis wrote in a candid post on Instagram.
“I learned a lot along the way and had the opportunity to do things I never expected.
“Three years ago I started working at Rusty Australia as a Menswear Designer, creating a range of products on a global scale. This took my design skills to the next level and I loved being part of such a great team (definitely something different than working alone in the warehouse, haha).
“But balancing both has become too much. To finish a full day of design work only to come home and do more of the same. So for now, I’m taking a step back, taking a break, and seeing what the future holds.”
Dennis said he was “incredibly grateful” for all the support over the years.
“From clients, friends and family, models and even mailmen. Thank you so much,” he continued.
The brand was born from a modest school project in which Dennis built a small wood press from a YouTube tutorial and learned how to sell t-shirts and sweaters by hand.
Demand for their original designs has skyrocketed, with products sold worldwide.
To complete the Neptune’s Nephew era, all products on the website are 30 percent off and new cargo shorts have been released.
