A new jackpot game is coming to the UK and there’s a prize of £300 million. British players will pay £4 per line to play against US players in the National Lottery’s Powerball. Shared bonuses can reach billions.

Players will be able to purchase it starting tomorrow, with the opening draw to be held on Thursday. The game was created in the USA in 1992. The Powerball jackpot is estimated at $544 million (£311 million), with its cash value at $241.6 million (£180 million).

Those who want to play will choose five white numbers from 1 to 69 and then one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. Winners must match all six numbers drawn.

If there is no winner, the jackpot will increase.

Winners can receive their prize as an annuity or lump sum paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years.

The game has only operated in the US so far. If the Powerball jackpot continues to increase leading up to the British launch, UK players will have the chance to win the jackpot in the opening draw.

The game will offer UK players unlimited jackpots starting from £12 million.

But earnings have the potential to reach hundreds of millions, or even billions, of pounds.

There is a feature that will only be available to the British. The UK game has an extra ‘match two main numbers’ prize tier which offers a fixed prize of £8.

Players in England will be able to join the game from 5am on Tuesday. The first draw for the British will be held this Thursday.

According to the operator, the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million Daily Mail.

Tickets can be purchased online or in stores in the UK until 23.55 the night before the draw (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday).

Drawings will be held at the Powerball studio in Florida on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at around 4 a.m. the next morning.
