Brain-dead 18-year-old’s organs to revitalise eight lives in Kerala

In less than 24 hours, Kerala, a 18 -year -old teenager who was declared dead after a traffic accident in Kochi, witnessed another altruistic gesture when he came to the fore to donate all sacred organs to others.

Biljith’s heart, Kochi, Lisie Hospital was transferred to a 13 -year -old girl waiting for a donor heart. Kozhikode government of the kidneys Kozhikode Medical College Hospital and Ernakulam Rajagiri Hospital was donated to renal disease patients. Liver, small intestines and pancreas were taken by the Ernakulam Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences for the final stage organ failure patients. Both cornea were taken by Küçük Çiçek Hospital.

Minister of Health Veena George paid tribute to young people who withdrew early and thanked Biiljith’s family for generous gestures.

Biljith survived by his family Biju Palamattom and Linda and his brother Bivel. Funeral ceremonies will be held at home on Saturday.
