The powerful car explosion near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station that devastated the capital on Monday evening has not only triggered a multi-agency terrorism probe in India but has also become a major focus of attention in Pakistan. Amid the chaos, a review of Google search trends in Pakistan reveals increased public interest in the attack.

In the explosion that occurred inside the Hyundai i20 car at around 18.50, at least nine people died at the scene and many people who were treated at LNJP Hospital were seriously injured. The explosion triggered fire almost instantly and six more vehicles, including several autorickshaws, were destroyed.

High Level Meeting: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who had visited the district earlier, held an important meeting at his residence to review the investigation. Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and NIA Director General were present along with other officials.

The meeting discussed progress in the investigation, actions of security agencies and strategy regarding the case.

Safety Precautions: Following the incident, high alert was declared in major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai. As a precautionary measure, the Red Fort Metro Station was temporarily closed and Gates 1 and 4 were sealed to prevent access to the Red Fort complex.

On-Site Inspection: More than 20 fire trucks and teams of Delhi Police, NSG, NIA and Forensic experts rushed to the spot where eyewitnesses reported thick smoke and scattering of human remains. Security forces were heavily deployed and controls in the surrounding area were tightened.
