Where did it all go wrong for Starmer? – podcast | Politics

When the ambitious former human rights lawyer won the 2024 general election by a landslide, there was hope in the air. Keir Starmer has promised to repair 14 years of damage to the Conservative Party. Just two years later, as anger and frustration rose across the country, he was forced out. It has been said many times that he is a good man, but he has been the most disliked prime minister since modern polls began.

Starmer certainly looked the part when he took to the podium outside Downing Street. Elegant gray suit, perfectly slicked side skirt and the dignity you’d expect from a prime minister. But he could not deliver.
