Ex-TV anchor allegedly stabbed elderly mother to death on Halloween

A former morning TV news anchor has been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing her 80-year-old mother, authorities announced.
Sedgwick County Prosecutor’s Office, formerly St. Angelynn “Angie” Mock, 47, an anchor at FOX 2 News in St. Louis, has been charged with first-degree murder for stabbing her mother, Anita Avers, on Halloween.
Mock was arrested Oct. 31 in Wichita, Kansas, after police said Avers was killed in the home they shared.

When officers responded to the home around 7:50 a.m., they found Mock outside with cuts on his hands, according to the Wichita Police Department.
The district attorney’s office said Avers was found with “multiple stab wounds.”
Mock was treated at a hospital for the injury before being booked into the Sedgwick County Jail. A spokesperson for the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office told Fox News Digital that Mock’s preliminary hearing date is Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Mock previously worked for St. Louis from 2011 to 2015. He was a morning news anchor at FOX 2 in St. Louis and also served at KOKH FOX 25 in Oklahoma City. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was working in sales at a data management software company at the time of his arrest.

Neighbors in the community were left traumatized after a bloody Mock allegedly emerged from the house, local media reported.
Alyssa Castro, who lives in the neighborhood, said, “A woman approached our vehicle with blood on her hands and all over her body and asked us to call 911.” he told KAKE.
Castro said Mock grabbed her boyfriend’s phone and ran back to the house, where she called authorities and claimed she had allegedly “stabbed” him. [her] the mother to save herself, according to Sedgwick County officers.
