White House RECAP: Shots fired in Washington as Trump’s home evacuated | World | News

An eyewitness described hearing gunshots shortly after seeing the presidential motorcade passing Washington DC
In a post shared on X, Curtis Winters said he saw a large convoy of about 20 motorcycle cops and several black SUVs while visiting the city.
“While enjoying a vacation in Washington DC, we saw a presidential motorcade pass by with approximately 20 motorcycle police and 10 black SUVs, then we heard gunshots,” he wrote.
He added that a few minutes later he claimed he was on top of the Washington Monument, where he took photographs of what he believed to be possible crime scenes.
The allegations have not been independently verified by authorities, and it is not yet clear whether the reported gunshots are linked to the ongoing incident near the White House.
Officials have not yet confirmed any further details.
