Here’s how much California gas prices declined from last week

State gas prices fell last week, reaching an average of $4.47 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. This is down from last week’s $4.44 per gallon.

The average fuel price in the state is up about 30 cents since last month. Last year, gas prices statewide were as low as $3.98 on Jan. 19, 2026, and as high as $4.73 on April 7, 2025, according to the EIA.

A year ago, the average gas price in California was $4.53 per gallon, up 1%.

The average price of gas in the United States last week was $3.02; This left prices in the state about 48.4% higher than the national average. The average national gas price is lower than last week’s average of $2.94 per gallon.
