Who Was Rana Pratap Bairagi? Bangladesh Businessman And Journalist Shot Dead Amid Hindu Minority Attacks | World News

Rana Pratap Bairagi was a 38-year-old Hindu businessman and Bangladeshi journalist. He owned an ice manufacturing factory at Kapalia Bazar under Monirampur Upazila of Jashore district. Apart from his job, he also served as the deputy editor of the Bangladesh newspaper Dainik BD Khobor, published from Narail. Bairagi was known locally as a media professional as well as an entrepreneur.

According to the Bangladesh-based Prothom Alo newspaper, the incident took place in Kapalia Bazar on Monday evening. At around 5.45 pm, three attackers arrived on a motorcycle and called Rana Pratap Bairagi from the ice factory. They then took him to a nearby alley, where he was shot in the head, leading to Bairagi’s death at the scene. The attackers fled immediately after the attack.
