After a “chaotic few years”, the couple married and started a family. Alexander ran a theater in Coffs Harbor for a time. But with the third of four children on the way and not willing to give up their parallel artistic careers, they eventually moved back to Canberra when they realized they needed to be closer to family. To go back to the village so to speak, Higgs is a born and bred Canberran.
